Born 1914 in Aachen, Götz is one of the foremost artists of the international Informel and a member of the legendary artists groups “Quadriga!”. In the early 1930s, his artistic beginning is marked by Expression- ism and Surrealism, whereby he is especially influenced by the works of Max Ernst, Juan Gris, Wassily Kandin- sky and Paul Klee. From 1952 he works purely in In- formel style and this same year, together with Bernard Schultze, Otto Greis and Heinz Kreutz, has a group ex- hibition in the Frankfurt “Zimmergalerie Franck”. Götz’s paintings and gouaches with scraped paint have an all- over structure (introduced by Jackson Pollack) the use of which allowed Götz to gain the status of a major rep- resentative of Action Painting. On his 100th birthday, the National Gallery in Berlin devoted a large exhbition on his art. K.O. Götz lives and works in Niederbreitbach- Wolfenacker/in the Rhineland Palatinate. Germán Gómez (*1972) wird 1972 in Gijón, Spanien, geboren. Er schließt sein Studium an der Universität Complutense Madrid mit dem Master ab. International wird Gómez in zahlrei- chen bedeutenden Ausstellungen gewürdigt. In Euro- pa, Asien, den USA und Lateinamerika gewinnt er eine Reihe wichtiger Kunstpreise. Gómez einziges Thema ist die männliche Gestalt, sei es als Rückenakt oder auch als Portrait. Zumeist in Doppelungen oder repa- rierten Fragmentarisierungen konzipiert, besorgt das Vernähen die Re-Integration des Körpers. Germán Gó- mez ist in dieser Collage- und Assemblage-Technik am weitesten fortgeschritten. Bei ihm ist die Vernähung eine Bekräftigung des Individuellen und des Einzigarti- gen. Gómez’s sole theme is the masculine figure, whether as a nude from the back or also as a portrait. Usually conceived in a doubled or rectified fragmen- tation, the stiching up attends to the re-integration of the body. Germán Gómez has advanced this colla- ge and assemblage technique the most. To him the suturing is a reinforcement of the individual and his uniqueness. Germán Gómez lives and works in Madrid Nicolas Grospierre (*1975) wird 1975 in Genf, Schweiz, geboren. Er arbeitet im erweiterten Bereich der Fotografie mit ausgepräg- tem Interesse an der Architektur. Grospierres Ver- wendung der Fotografie reicht von klassischer Doku- mentarfotografie über Fotomontagen zu Video- und Rauminstallationen. Seine Arbeiten beschäftigen sich mit architektonischen Komplexen politischer und ge- sellschaftlicher Ideologien anhand moderner öffent- licher Einrichtungen. Grospierre folgt dabei der Tra- dition fotografischer Typologien der Konzeptkünstler wie Ed Ruscha, Dan Graham, Allan Sekula oder den Bechers der 1960-70er-Jahre. Als Absolvent der Institut d‘Etudes Politiques de Paris (1998) und der London School of Economics (1999) gibt er sein De- büt als Fotograf im Jahr 2001. Grospierre wird 2008 mit dem Goldenen Löwen auf der 11. Venedig Biennale der Architektur ausgezeichnet. Im Jahr 2012 erhält er den Polityka Passport Award – Polens renommier- testen Kunstpreis – und im Jahr 2014 eine individuel- le Förderung der Graham Foundation (Chicago, USA). Seine Monographie „Open-Ended“ wird 2013 vom Jovis Verlag, Berlin, veröffentlicht. Seine Werke sind in zahlreichen öffentlichen und privaten Sammlungen weltweit zu finden, etwa in der Rubell Family Collection in Miami, Florida, oder dem National Museum, War- schau, Polen. Nicolas Grospierre lebt und arbeitet seit 1999 in Warschau. Born 1975 in Geneva, Switzerland, he works in the ex- panded field of photography with a marked interest in architecture. Grospierre’s use of photography goes from classical documentation photos via photo mon- tage to video and three-dimensional installations. His works are concerned with architectural complexes of political and social ideologies in reference to modern public facilities. Grospierre hereby follows the tradi- tion of photographic typologies of conceptual artists such as Ed Ruscha, Dan Graham, Allan Sekula or the Bechers in the 1960s and 70s.
