Sculpture View

Announcement, exhibition opening August 29, 2024, 6 pm

Experience important sculptural works by Tony Cragg, Markus Lüpertz, Stephan Balkenhol and Bernar Venet in our gallery over the summer of 2024. Under the motto "Sculpture View", these contemporary positions will be united in a very special presentation. It invites visitors to experience space and three-dimensional media in a new way, like a sculpture garden.

Each work of art tells a unique story and demonstrates the diversity and depth of artistic forms of expression. From abstract sculptures to realistic representations, the exhibition offers an interesting dialogue of styles and techniques. Visitors have the opportunity to view the works from different angles and be inspired by their beauty and originality.

In addition to the sculptural and material properties of the different materials, the unique interaction of the sculptures comes to the fore and enables an intense sensual encounter with the works.

Stephan Balkenhohl „Shiva“, 2013, Bronze, patiniert und bemalt, Unikatär, Plinthe vergoldet, 42 x 13 x 6 cm

Hans-Jörg Mayer | Atomic Suite. Winterreise. Fantasy.

Exhibition opening April 27, 2024, 6:30 pm

From Saturday, April 27, 2024, during the Bielefelder Nachtansichten, the gallery will present the extensive exhibition "Atomic Suite. Winterreise. Fantasy" by Berlin artist Hans-Jörg Mayer (born 1955) with over 30 works on canvas and paper. These include works from the artist's latest series.

Hans-Jörg Mayer's works are figurative concept paintings and luminous pop-trash phenomena. They are hybrid forms in constant metamorphosis. Painterly aesthetics that open up and at the same time block interpretation. Doubting, grueling, a little obscene.
