Am 28. September 2023 eröffnet die neue Show von Nicolas Grospierre anlässlich des Warsaw Gallery Weekend 2023 in der Hala Koszyki in Warschau und wurde von der dela.art collection als Begleitveranstaltung organisiert.

Deeper than the Abyss ist die Präsentation verschiedener Betrachtungsmaschinen und anderer optischer Geräte aus unterschiedlichen Serien, die von 2006 bis zum letzten Jahr entstanden sind und deren gemeinsamer Nenner ein visuelles Spiel ist: illusorische Perspektiven, die in Endlosschleifen verwoben sind.

Nicolas Grospierre wird 1975 in Genf, Schweiz, geboren. Er arbeitet im erweiterten Bereich der Fotografie mit ausgeprägtem Interesse an der Architektur. Grospierres Verwendung der Fotografie reicht von klassischer Dokumentarfotografie über Fotomontagen zu Video- und Rauminstallationen. Seine Arbeiten beschäftigen sich mit architektonischen Komplexen politischer und gesellschaftlicher Ideologien anhand moderner öffentlicher Einrichtungen. Grospierre folgt dabei der Tradition fotografischer Typologien der Konzeptkünstler wie Ed Ruscha, Dan Graham, Allan Sekula oder den Bechers in 1960-70er Jahren. Als Absolvent der Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris (1998) und der London School of Economics (1999) gibt er sein Debüt als Fotograf im Jahr 2001. Grospierre wird 2008 mit dem Goldenen Löwen auf der 11. Venedig Biennale der Architektur ausgezeichnet. Im Jahr 2012 erhält er den Polityka Passport Award - Polens renommiertesten Kunstpreis und im Jahr 2014 eine individuelle Förderung der Graham Foundation (Chicago, USA). Seine Monographie, Open-End, wird 2013 von Jovis Verlag, Berlin veröffentlicht; seine Werke sind in vielen öffentlichen und privaten Sammlungen weltweit zu finden, so in der Rubell Family Collection in Miami, FL, und dem National Museum, Warschau, Polen. Nicolas Grospierre lebt und arbeitet seit 1999 in Warschau, Polen.
