About the exhibition

The Samuelis Baumgarte Galerie, Bielefeld, Germany, will present an exclusive and multifaceted retrospective of the internationally celebrated Parisian silver sculptor Goudji as well as selected masterpieces from modern classics.

Goudji, born in Georgia in 1941, studied at the Academy of Arts in Tbilisi. After moving to Paris, his outstanding artistic career began, which helped him to gain worldwide recognition. His work has been exhibited in renowned museums and galleries. He created numerous important works for Notre-Dame de Paris and the liturgical collection of Pope John Paul II.

For his exclusive works such as Le Porteur de Sel, 2018, silver, onyx, iron eye, jasper, he was named Chevalier des “Ordre de la Légion d’honneur” by President Nicolas Sarkozy, along with numerous other honors for his life's work.

The exhibition comprises 12 silver exhibits of the highest quality. The exclusive presentation is accompanied by important originals by famous artists such as Fernando Botero, Sam Francis, Hans Hartung, Alexej von Jawlensky, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Max Liebermann, Heinz Mack, Gabriele Münter, Emil Nolde, Gerhard Richter, Christian Rohlfs, readers Ury and Alfons Walde.
